Parallel Gate Valve is a new type of fast shut-off valve. The valve features metal-seated seal construction, steady and reliable movement, rapid open and close action, small operating force and excellent shut-off performance, it is especially suitable for emergency shut-off and vent of gas and liquid under high temperature and high pressure as well as be used as a large diameter control valve.
Parallel Gate Valve is equipped with double action cylinder, when it comes to an air supply fault and requests reset, storage tank is needed. Spring return cylinder can be applied to small diameter valves. Electric actuator and electro- hydraulic actuator is optional.

Valve Internal Construction

Working Principle
 
The open and close assembly of parallel gate valve is composed of wedge, disc follower and
floating gate among others. The unique part is the parallel double floating gate seal assembly
to replace wedge type gate, the working principle is as followed:
 
When the parallel gate valve is closed, the output force of the actuator is transported to the disc
follower from the wedge to provide two equal forces to obtain excellent seal performance.
 
The bevel angle of the wedge is larger than the self-locking 
 
angle of the slope, at the opening it first overcomes the friction force between the wedge and
the disc follower, the stem lifts the wedge, because of its own weight, the disc follower produces
axial setback, therefore no friction in the sealing pair, moreover the gap between all kinds of
components is big, the open action is rapid and no jamming.
 
In the process of opening and closing, there is sliding friction movement between the wedge
and disc follower, however there is no sliding friction movement between the floating gate and
the seat ring, only loose and tension action, therefore it greatly reduces the friction between the
gate and the seat sealing surface to prolong life span.
 
The components of the shut-off device are movably connected, because of the fluid pressure,
the gate can self-rotate during the opening and closing process to self-clean the sealing
surface to furthermore prolong sealing and life span. And it can automatically compensate the
deformation and manufacturing error caused by temperature change to prolong sealing life.
 
In order to eliminate the increasing chamber pressure caused by temperature change, a small
hole is opened on the inlet gate, during the closing process; automatic turn-on between the
chamber and the inlet hole can vent and balance the pressure in the chamber. Moreover
because of the differential pressure on the outlet gate, it can further fits the seat ring and has
reliable sealing performance.
